With these materials the following experiments can be carried out:

intensities
- short-circuit current for different irradiation angles
- series connection of photovoltaic cells / shadowing effects

- characteristic curve of a photovoltaic cell
- degree of efficiency
- simulating the diurnal variation
- charging a Gold Cap-capacitor by using a photovoltaic cell

Experimental set-up The Power of the Wind
With these materials the following experiments can be carried out:
- measuring the wind speed around the school
- wind speed of the wind machine
- output power of the generator in dependence of the shape of the
blades (flat, arched)
- output power of the generator in dependence of the number of blades
(2, 3, 4)
- output power of the generator in dependence of the position of the
blades
- caracteristic curve of the generator at constant rotation speed
- caracteristic curve of the generator with resistance rotor and lifting
rotor at constant wind speed
- output power of the generator in dependence of the wind speed
- charging the accumulator/Gold Cap by help of the generator
- discharging the accumulator/Gold Cap with differing loads
- construction of an isolated photovoltaic driven network

Experimental set-up H2 — Energy to Go
With these materials the following experiments can be carried out:
- volume ratio of the gases being generated
- amount of gas being generated per time unit and in dependence of
the amperage
- energy efficiency and Faraday-efficiency of the electrolyser
- characteristic curve of the electrolyser
- energy efficiency and Faraday-efficiency of the fuel cell
- characteristic curve of the fuel cell
- assembling an isolated network

Experimental set-up Energy-Check
With these materials the following experiments can be carried out:
- determine indoor air quality by measuring the relative humidity
and indoor temperature
- determine dew point temperature by using relative humidity and indoor
temperature data
- measure surface temperature of water, air, walls
- check wall temperature for critical dew point (development of mildew)
- measure indoor and outdoor temperature including minimum and maximum
- measure intensity of illumination (is intensity of illumination
sufficient for the students’ workplace?)
- measure water consumption in school
- determine the energy consumption of electrical devices including
energy costs
- record of data
- improve energy efficiency of school building
- analyse cost savings by improved energy efficiency
